Michael Savage in the New Yorker

I intended to write about this on Wednesday, but I didn't get a chance. If you haven't heard or if you haven't picked up a copy yet, head to your nearest bookstore and grab a copy of the August 3rd issue of the New Yorker magazine, which features a wonderful article on radio talkshow host Michael Savage.

I've written about Savage once or twice here before and the response from readers has not been the greatest, but as I said then, I listen to his show every day. I have since probably December and I haven't heard a thing that has made me think he's a bigot or a racist or any of those things. He has his views on homosexual marriages and the like, but isn't he entitled to his opinions? I mean, good grief. He hasn't said that anyone needs to hauled out and shot. We get to a very sticky place in this country when we are ready to throw someone to the wolves simply because they don't agree with what we think they should...Anyway, Kelefa Sanneh, a black writer, did the profile on Savage and I have to say--I love it. I bought my copy from Borders and I will forever cherish it because it is so absolutely bizarre to witness the way Savage has been blackballed in the industry. But, despite that, he has at least one power player on his side (God?) because try as they might, the thugs haven't been able to hold him down. He just keeps getting right back up. Kind of like Rocky when Drago was putting a beating on him (why is that movie in my mind so much lately?).

I'm not even religious but I'm tired of the way the left is treating anyone that chooses Christ. Yet they tip toe all over literally EVERY other religion BUT those that celebrate him.

I recently discovered Michael Savage since Obama became President. I was a life long liberal until Obama came along. Now I wonder what I was thinking. I listen to Michael Savage every night as well. He is the most brilliant radio host out there. I've learned a ton from LISTENING to him. The problem with liberals is they don't listen. If you actually listen to your opposition you may learn from them. What I learned is my god I'm not a liberal. I'm an American that loves my country, and is disgusted with our politicians in how they have sold us out this nation to the corporations. They are all prostitutes who have betrayed their oath to the constitution. It's time the citizens rise up and take this nation back. I see Savage as a lighthouse and a courageous one at that. Note to liberals: try listening to Michael Savage. You might learn something.

Hey Carolinadawn! It is so sad to have to admit that all this time, it's been liberals who have been intolerant. When I really think back to all of the situations where I've tried to "champion" liberal causes, it's been from a position of bullying, intolerance and ignorance.

You are so right about the religious bashing too. It's really sick. I've heard conservatives say that they are against things like gay marriage and abortion, but I haven't heard them saying they want to tar and feather anyone.

raging, I LOVE Savage. I didn't even know who he was before the election, but from the moment I started listening to him, I've loved his whole persona. I haven't really talked him up here because I got burned when I started mentioned that I like Randi Rhodes. But, Savage has been pretty solid. I don't agree with each and every thing he says, but I agree with at least 98 percent of it. lol

I should be allowed to go on the radio and say that blacks shouldn't be allowed to be married again, and maybe we should start lynching those nigros again after all? Hey, it's just an "opinion". How about those pesky rat face Jews like Michael Wiener? He loves to scream like his ass cancers are biting his anus when ever someone says anything about the Jews. Maybe the Jews really were a cancer in Germany. They must have done something to warrent that many people agreeing to wanting to murder them. Hey, it's just an opinion. Perhaps we could pick every minority that we personally don't like and preach vile hatred on the air-waves. Micheal ass cancer Weiner also has a little whiney voice like a little bitch because that's what he is, is a whiney bitch. Has anyone ever heard him off mic? He sounds like a whiney little Jew-bitch. He thinks women shouldn't be cops, or any have job that the poor discriminated against white MEN should have. Anyone who can stomach listening to this heart attack waiting to happen, has problems. He's an entertainer, that is all he is, is a bigot for an entertainer. Men like him are dying off every day, thank God. If you actually start to reason with a psycho who moved all the way from the Bronx... all the way over to fagville San Francisco only to bitch about the gay people, and you can't see the man is a self loathing queer, then you are on the same planet he's on. Crazytown. He is a dangerous vile disgusting and hateful person. Hopefully he'll get shot one of these days. That's why he's always in the hospital. His vile hate brings him health problem after health problem.
