Why Do I Even Love the Democratic Party?

Well folks, tomorrow is the big day. The day when the DNC Rules and Bylaws Committee will meet to make a decision about whether or not they will be comfortable disenfranchising voters of Florida and Michigan. You know. Where they decide to either say, "We aren't going to hold you voters accountable for what a Republican controlled legislature in Florida did or for Obama's decision to take his name off the ballot in Michigan," or where they decide to say, "You know what? Fuck Florida and Michigan," and then all get up and chant, "OhhhBOMBuh! OhhhBOMBuh! OhhhBOMBuh!"

Barack Hussein Obama is a sure thing...to LOSE! Just the video that we've seen SO FAR of his buddies and pals ensure that. You Obamazoids can ignore it and pretend that it won't be a factor come November if he gets that nomination if you want to, but you'd better thicken that skin now because the R.A.M. (Republican Attack Machine) is going to eat that ass up!!! Oh, and be sure there is additional video that we haven't laid eyes on of The Bastard The Chosen One putting his foot in his mouth. I've been telling you all that for months now just based on these spidey senses that I've got (and hell, common sense) and sure enough, Larry over at No Quarter started alerting everyone a couple of weeks ago that there is in fact video out there of Michelle "My Belle" Obama going off on "whitey". Yeah, that'll help get him elected...ROTFLMMAO

I've maintained my loyalty to the Democratic Party everytime I've walked into any voting booth since I could first vote, but if Barack Hussein Obama is handed that nomination, I'm going to cheat on that motherfucker for sure with John McCain!! Fat Joe and His Sexy New Track

Fat Joe holds a special place in my heart because over the years, he has consistently released hot, syrupy, sticky sweet songs with beats that would make even the oldest granny wiggle her tailfeather. His latest collaboration with J. Holiday, "I Won't Tell" is an instant classic. J. Holiday's voice is a perfect compliment to the sexy beats that play throughout the song and Fat Joe is well, Fat Joe. Cool, confident and slightly playful, making his songs always great for airplay--and foreplay........

If you haven't heard "I Won't Tell" yet, pull up a chair and sit a spell. Well, you probably won't be sitting once that beat drops, but it won't hurt to try. --SUGAR

A Nina Simone Kind of Day--Sinnerman

Yesterday, Hostess had a post entitled, "Sin Now or Later" or something like that, and Nina Simone's, "Sinnerman", has been stuck in my head ever since. That's one of my favorite driving much too fast songs and it will be good company during my drive to Philly this morning. With that song playing I'll get there in no time.

The Sexy Song That Wasn't Meant to Be

I'm ashamed to say that Wyclef Jean's very political, message heavy, informative, soul-stirring song with Sizzla "Welcome to the East" has inspired me to "choreograph" an awesome strip tease. These damn artists need to tone those beats down when they are trying to put out a song with a purpose!!! A daughter of the South such as myself will siphon those beats up from the deepest depths of a track and put.it.down!! "Welcome to the East" is a song that should inspire us all to get involved to make a difference in the world or hell, get off your asses and vote at least--but that music is too damn sexy! Either that or I need to break this vow of celibacy and get somebody to come over here this week to knock the dust off of this nappy dugout...What do you think? Let me get my mind right.

I haven't been to a concert in a minute, so YouTube gives me a great fix from time to time and I stumbled upon some blogosphere gold last night. I figured why should I hog it all. Keyshia Cole's New CD Lacks Umph

Let me first say, I am a die-hard Keyshia Cole fan. Not in the same way as I am about MJB, but she's good in my book of "great music".....HOWEVER, I must say I have listened to "Just Like You" in its entirety, about three times and still find it hard to find just one track that I can say, "Damn, that's hot" other than of course, "Let it Go". I'll be honest, I'm very shocked because I had such high hopes.

I like "Heaven Sent" okay, but for the most part, the beats in the entire album just sound weak and watered down. Keyshia sings her ass off, but it's the overall packaging of each song that sounds so blah. I'm so shocked and disappointed, I feel like a child that's been left in the woods to fend for herself and find her way back to civilization. FORTUNATELY Jill Scott's new cd, "The Real Thing: Words and Songs,  Vol. 3" left out a trail of bread crumbs for me. That's some grown woman sangin'. True to form, Jill entertains and enlightens. My favorites are probably, "How's it Make You Feel" and "Whenever You're Around" as far as the unreleased tracks go, but I love them all. Pick up a copy at Circuit City for the sweet low price of $9.99 today.

I hope that maybe Keyshia's producers remix some of the tracks on her cd and release them that way because I still believe she can blow us all away with her talent. --SUGAR

The Sun Doesn't Shine From Your Butt

In case regulars of this blog haven't noticed, I LOVE MUSIC. All genres. I just love good music. I've been a bit behind in keeping up with some of the new artists, especially Neosoul, which I absolutely love. A few days ago, I stumbled upon a song that is just right for the mood I've been in lately. Hill St. Soul singing "Pieces".  The title of this post is a line in the song. Hill St. Soul is singing about her disappointment in a man she's been seeing. A "gentleman" who seems to think he is always right and treats her less than she thinks acceptable.

The song speaks to the situation I was in with The Iteration on many levels. My hormones have my emotions all over the damn place right now, but this song is helping me stay focused. Anyway, check it out below. I've never posted one of these Imeem clips here before, so hopefully it works out okay. This blog has been having enough issues as it is over the past month or so. What can I say? Boyz II Men is one of those groups that you just hate to see fall apart, but all good things must come to an end I guess. They are tonight's feature for SNS After Dark and in light of all of the Juanita Bynum drama and the new focus (in the Black community anyway) on domestic violence and being mistreated, I thought this song would be appropriate...."Pass You By".
